National Services Nation's Pride & Future Pillars

His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces ( May God protect him), issued on May, 28 , 2014, Federal Law No. (6) of 2014 concerning national service and reserve. The enactment of this law is considered a major step in the history of the country, as it reflects the wise leadership’s vision of national security and development of citizens, on the basis of constitutional principles, particularly Article No. (43) which states that defense of the Union is a sacred duty, imposed on every citizen and the performance of national service is an honour for the citizens, regulated by law.

The UAE has implemented national service as it is the strategic tool whereby security, political, social, national and economic challenges can be managed. This can be achieved by focusing on the Emirati citizen who is considered the pivot of development. National service develops the national spirit, reshapes and improves Emirati youth's personalities and prepares a new generation empowered by leadership, a self-confident generation which values its deep historical roots, (3 generation of enlightened Emarati youth, aware of its national responsibilities, a strong loyal generation that achieves the vision of the father of the nation, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan (Peace be Upon Him).

Connecting the citizen to the vision, aims and aspirations of the nation is the major goal of this program. It entails that the youth of this country should set the example and be a model of patriotism in words and deeds. The loyalty this country demands is true and total loyalty, indivisible and undisputable, it is this loyalty that prepares the countrymen to remain alert in its defense, with the fullest commitment in body and mind.
