31st National Day

On the 2nd of December each year the United Arab Emirates celebrates the country's National Day. The celebration this year coincides with the 31st Anniversary of the formation of the UAE's federation. The efforts of His Highness Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan AI Nahyan, the President of the UAE, and His Brethren Supreme Council Members, Their Highnesses Rulers of the Emirates were crowned by the formation of the UAE on the 2nd of December 1971.

Over the past three decades, the UAE has achieved tremendous progress and development. This progress has included various economic, cultural and social fields. This has been achieved as a result of the UAE federation, which has catapulted the country to great heights of prosperity and affluence. Furthermore, the federation has transformed the country from a desert into an oasis of wealth and prosperity under the wise leadership of H.H. the President of the UAE and His Brethren, Their Highnesses Rulers of the Emirates.

Crowning the country's celebrations with the 31st Anniversary of the UAE National Day, and as the post has a vital role in the rapid development of the UAE, Emirates Post has issued a set of 7 commemorative stamps (each of 50 Fils denomination). The stamps depict the most famous landmarks in each of the seven Emirates (Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm AI Quwain, Ras AI Khaimah, Fujairah).
