Armed Forces Silver Jubilee Anniversary

The declaration of UAE Armed Forces Union on the Second of December, 1971 stated the UAE nation in general and the UAE military personnel in particular, before their responsibilities pouring forth towards the protection and the preservation of their Young State sovereign- y together with its gains. It was a must that responsibility should be associated with development & evolution in the Armed Forces size so as to comprise all combat & administrative support formations to go in sound conformity with its new role, provided its steadfast to defensive combating creed heavily depending on the purity of the Teachings of Islam.

Armed Forces Unification:

Springing from the conception of constantly & consistently seeking support and augmentation of its federal entity, he enhancement of its peace, security, stability and advance- Dent, the UAE Armed Forces Union had been declared on the Sixth of May, 1976 under one flag and under one command. Building on that decision of integrating & amalgamating the diverse military forces: naval, land and air Forces, the UAE Military became united under the umbrella of one central command bearing the name of The General Headquarter of the Armed Forces (G.H.Q.). The Armed Forces were organised in the shape of military sectors (areas). Then they witnessed reorganisation after the issuance of decree # 1 by the Chief of the Supreme Council in the year 1978 declaring full conflation and integration of air, land and naval forces, and consequently the abnegation of the commands of the military areas (sectors) after changing them into brigades.

No doubt about it, and due to its full integration the Armed Forces witnessed sizeable expansion size-wise, worth mentioning development advancement & armament-wise and- high profile quality training-wise. This had all been all, in the first place, due to the entire issue sincerely paid concern of His Highness Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan AI Nahyan, The Head of the State the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and also due to that of his brothers the members of the Union Supreme Council, the Rulers of the other Emirates.

The armament development has ceaseless gone neck-and- neck with the current era requirements and so has the military personnel (military cadres) all-aspect related qualification issues & proceedings. Not only in the fields of domestic gains or the enhancement of internal peace, security and stability has the armed forces reflected concrete prevalence, but also in broad serious questions, be them militarily or Humanitarian relief providing, such as its military & humanitarian contributions in Lebanon, Somalia, Kuwait and in Kosovo.
