The history of postal services in the U.A.E. dates back to 1909 when the first post office was realized in Dubai.
On 30 March 1963, the first post office in the emirate of Abu Dhabi was established. During the preceding years (1963-1964) more post offices were opened in the other emirates.
Since the formation of the U.A.E. on 2nd December 1971, postal services were among the first public services realized by the Federation to highlight this momentous event.
On the 1st of August, 1972 a Federal law was issued unifying the services in the U.A.E. and the Emirates Post Administration was established under the Ministry of Communication.
After the inception of the Federation, the U.A.E. witnessed abundant prosperity and development, which has in turn seen a phenomenal rise in services. Following a Federal Decree, the Emirates Post was established on the 1st April 1985. Since then, the Emirates Post has been rapidly developing and improving its products and services to always provide a consistently high quality postal service to the nation.
To adapt to the rapid changes of consumer needs and technological development worldwide, Emirates Postal Corporation “Emirates Post” was established to provide its customers with high quality, reliable and world class networking and communication services so as to create customer satisfaction at all contact opportunities through an innovative approach, trained workforce and strong team spirit.
