The Winner of Dubai World Cup

The Dubai World Cup was inaugurated in 1996 and undoubtedly set the scene for international racing in the 21st century. It has emerged as pathfinder for modern international thorough- bred racing and brought the United Arab Emirates and Middle East on the stage of world racing.

In the fifth running of the Dubai World Cup 2000 held on 25/03/2000 at N ad Al Sheba racetrack in Dubai, the four-year-old colt "Dubai Millennium" produced a performance stunned everybody and was immediately labelled the best in the world performance that was one of the greatest in the racing history.

General Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Minister of Defence has repeatedly stressed that "Dubai Millennium" is the best horse he has ever had or seen. He believed his horse has the speed to take any forward position and has proven that "Dubai Millennium" was the best horse in the race. The combativeness of the rest of the field that comprised champion horses from America, Britain, Japan, Hong Kong and the Middle East seemed to mean nothing to "Dubai Millennium" who has broken his own course record. What he has achieved seems beyond explanation and belief!!
