In December 1996, The UAEA Council of Ministers and the Executive Board of the Federal Environmental Agency announced the 4^th of February of each year to be the National Environment Day in the U.A.E.  

The Fourth National Environment Day will be celebrated on the 4^th February 2001 under the slogan: 

“Development and Environment Integration not Collation”  

This occasion highlights the importance of legislation and application of rules and procedures to satisfy the cultural and economic needs of development in the country. In fact, this has been based on improving the elements of natural environment and protection of biological diversity and heritage in the U.A.E. The environmental consideration should be in line with the policy of planning and development when planning and establishing new projects take place. This would satisfy the needs and ambitions of present ot achieve the needs and ambitions of future.
