First Shipment of Abu Dhabi Crude Oil

The First consignment of Abu Dhabi Crude Oil was shipped on the 4^th of July, 1962. It was produced from Umm Sharif Field of Abu Dhabi Marine Operating Company (ADMA-OPCO) in Offshore Abu Dhabi.

The First Shipment, which is perhaps one of the most important single events in the recent history of the United Arab Emirates ushered in unprecedented prosperity and affluence for the United Arab Emirates and its people.

Assuming new meaning under the leadership of His Highness the President Shaikh Zayed Bin Sultant Al Nahyan, this historic event symbolized the beginning of a new era of overwhelming changes which have transformed the UAE from a simple desert and seafaring community to a major oil producer occupying an important place in the world map.

And Guided by the prudence and sagacity of His Highness Shaikh Zayed, the United Arab Emirates made great strides in almost every human endeavor to blend its traditional Islamic values with its material wealth and bolster the old with the new.

Today a quarter of century after the First Shipment was made, the UAE thas emerged as bustling modern nation investing its vast material and spiritual wealth in the interest of its grateful people and their fellow men on the regional, Arab and international levels.
