The United Arab Emirates is participating in Expo '92 which will be held in Seville, Spain during the period from 20th April to 12th October 1992.

Expo '92 is the seventh universal exposition of man's achievements. The first was held in London in 1851 to celebrate the Industrial Revolution achievements.

Expo '92 is expected to attract 18 million visitors during its duration. About 109 countries are participating in this exhibition including UAE which is participating with a pavilion designed in a traditional architectural structure. It is modelled in the shape of Jahili Fort of Al Ain, which is considered as one of the forts which is structured and designed according to the Islamic architectural design and structure with its circular central building flanked by three towers.  

The Jahili Fort was built in 1898, by Sheikh Zayed Bin Khalifa (Zayed the First).
