The 18th Arab Scout Conference will be held in U.A.E. during the period from 29th November upto 3rd of December 1988 in response to the invitation presented by His Highness the President, Shaikh Zayed Bin Sultan AI Nahyan, to the 17th Scout Conference held in Arab Republic of Yemen on July 1986. This conference will be the second one organised by one of the Arab Gulf Countries as Sultanate of Oman organised the 16th Conference in Muscat on 1984.
The Arab Scout Conference is the supreme authority that determine the general policy of the Scout in the Arab Organization and present all efforts to develop and organise with the assistance of Arab Scout Organizations and other foreign Scout Organizations to achieve the objectives and principles of the International Organization and preserving the objectives of the Arab Nation.
The Arab Scout Conference compose of the delegations of the Arab Scout Organizations registered in the Secretariat General. The members of the Arab Scout Committee participate in all the activities of the Conference whether preparational or executive.
U.A.E. Scout Society started preparations for this conference since February 1987 and a supreme committee was appointed composed of Emirates Scout Board of Directors, some other enterprises and organizations that will participate in organising this conference. Also, several branch committees were appointed and commenced duties since February 1988 and all suggestions and recommendations of these committees will be passed to the Supreme Committee Organising this conference.
