الذكرى العاشرة لتأسيس جامعة الإمارات

Since December 1971. the establishment of a national university was just a dream of our officials to become a place of knowledge and education specially to United Arab Emirates and Gulf Area and to Arab Islamic world in common

The dream became a reality and the University was established on a foundation based on the principles and giving of educational needs as a result of a progressive educational system and the increase of numbers of students who completed their secondary education from one hand and as a result of the social progress in the other hand
So, the University opened at the beginning of the academic year of 1397/ 1398 (H) equivalent to 1977/1978 as the first lay of higher education in the country achieving the needs of the society and state In preparing and training the nationals in different fields and speciality
AL AIN town has been chosen as the location of the University because of its natural and human capabilities that suits the environment of the University life atmosphere and also for its modern and continuous growth, its perfect and wonderful design and its Location in the centre of the main towns of the country. I The United Arab Emirates University showed a very rapid and noticeable , growth As a result of the big efforts spent in establishing this University to maintain its continuity and progress, the University celebrated the graduation of five sessions in all different fields and specialities Now. the University celebrating the graduation of the Sixth batch.
Also, the University maintained its continuous efforts towards the localization of its academic staff by sending the brilliant graduates abroad for higher studies. The University is giving a special care and attention to prepare the locals for the academic and administrative staff Already quite a number of locals occupied a lot of the University vacancies.
The University adopted the certified hours system as a principal to its educational system and study on semesters basis. Also the University achieved the attachment system to enable those who were unable to join : the University to complete their higher education and thus participating in the training of the national categories while they are functioning their duties at their different locations. The first batch already graduated this year.
In order to complete its structure, the University introduced the higher studies. The start was with the Gulf Studies Diploma which started at the second half of the academic year 1983/1984
The University was so keen to strengthen its relations and ties with Gulf Arab and International Universities. The University is well known in Arab Universities Union and Universities Universal Union Quite a number of specialised academic staff in all fields visited the University and the University participated in a lot of Seminars.
