Since the foundation of the United Arab Emirates, it was Keen to march with the advanced and civilized countries to promote all fields and levels. The civil aviation sector was given the biggest part of these efforts. International Air Ports were built in most of the Emirates and supplied with the advanced and high technology and equipment together with international technical experienced manpower to meet its operations requirements.
Being well aware with the huge volume of air traffic within the United Arab Emirates Air - Space, the significant location of the country as a link between East and West, the confidence in its ability to shoulder the responsibility of the aviation safety within its region, the United Arab Emirates decided to establish its own region which is the Flight Information Region of the United Arab Emirates and to abandon the Bahrain Flight Information Region.
The centre of this region was fully responsible for the country aviation control, since 10th of April 1986, the date of commencement of work in the centre. Since then, all air traffic operations were under its control.
The centre is having full control and observation on all the country region and looking after the safety of aviation within this region by providing navigation services, weather cast and passing important information to crafts flying within this region.
