Arab Postal Day

United Arab Emirates15 August 2012Draft

Emirates Post joins the Arab postal administrations in issuing a single joint commemorative stamp of one denomination (225 fils) to celebrate Arab Post Day, which falls on 3 August every year, and to recall the importance of the post in serving communities and the stages of development it has been through over the ages. Communication services in the Arab countries are among the main bridges to contact with the world economy and to opening up to it, since this sector is a key driver of comprehensive economic development. The occasion highlights the importance of Arab cooperation in communication and information technologies and of finding ways to advance cooperation to develop the postal sector in the Arab countries. Emirates Post seeks to record, document and highlight local and international achievements in all important activities, events and occasions at home and abroad by issuing commemorative stamps that document them, since stamps are a means of media and cultural communication that reaches the countries and peoples of the world, which gives them wide circulation and a historical message handed down by peoples and civilisations. Souvenir sheet: AED 15. Size: 30 x 50 mm in sheets of 20 stamps.
