Honoring the Mother of the Nation HH Shaikha Fatima Bint Mubarak

United Arab Emirates10 April 2005Draft

On this special, auspicious occasion, we celebrate our endless love and undying gratitude to the compassionate, gracious mother who has played a pioneering role in preparing national women to be exemplary girls, women and mothers, and served as a role model for women of the UAE in raising families and generations towards a better tomorrow. HH Shaikha Fatima Bint Mubarak was born and raised in AI Ain, and was wedded to the late great leader Shaikh Zayed Bin Sultan AI Nahayan in the 1960's. Since his accession on 6 August 1966, Her Highness embraced human and social causes and encouraged women in her developing country to emancipate themselves by learning and knowledge, which will enable them to serve their families and country. Forty years of giving have elapsed, which were mainly embodied in the unsurpassed achievements of the General UAE Women's Union established in 1975. Her Highness has become the mother of the nation, the wife and the mother, a role model followed by national women in their dedication and preservation of the family and religious beliefs and traditions.
