Children Painting
United Arab Emirates15 September 1997Draft
Children are our gateway to the future of tomorrow. Through children's bright coloured paintings come expressions that most of us overlook about a child's individual feelings and visions. Joy and suffering... love and hate... satisfaction and refusal. In fact, there is no difference between children -handicapped or healthy in expressing such feelings through their paintings. There are many bright children who should be applauded for their shiny paintings and colours which are created spontaneously and without the inhibitions existing in most adults. Moreover, paintings would help children to be stable psychologically and intellectually. In this regard by highlighting the role of educational, social and medical establishments, the country is trying to offer many services for children. Co-ordinating with Ministry of Labour & Social Affairs (Handicapped Care and Rehabilitation Centre -Dubai) and Supreme Council of Child- hood (Mughaider Children Centre -Sharjah), the General Postal Authority in the U.A.E. has selected these children's paintings in order to issue a set of stamps: Mughaider Children Centre (Fils 50) Handicapped Care Centre (Dh. 1) Mughaider Children Centre (Fils 250) Mughaider Children Centre (Dhs.3) -Aysha Darwish (11 years) -Shaima Hassan (11 years) -Majida Abdullah (10 years) -Noora Hassan (12 years)
