Children Painting

United Arab Emirates19 November 1996Draft

Children are the foundation on which the future of this country is built, and to develop a child's whole personality all efforts had to come together to give children the chance to practise this art through the lines and colours with which they express the value of the homeland, their pride and joy in it, and at times their emotional and aesthetic sides. Children's drawings, with their honesty and spontaneity, help children grow up appreciating art and beauty, and help them reach psychological, intellectual and physical balance. In coordination with the Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services, the Girls' Clubs, the Child Centre in Sharjah and the Ministry of Education, the General Postal Authority chose these paintings by children for a set of stamps in four denominations. They are by Abdullah Mohammed Abdullah Al Sharhan (13 years old), Ministry of Education (50 fils); Hamda Mohammed Abdullah (11 years old), Child Culture Centre, Sharjah (1 dirham); Hind Mohammed bin Dhahi (12 years old), Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services (250 fils); and Lina Atta Yaghi (11 years old), Girls' Clubs, Sharjah (350 fils).

Built from public sources; not yet checked against a second source.
