Arab Woman and Family Day

United Arab Emirates21 March 1986Draft

T he Festival of the Arab Family and the Arab Woman is celebrated annually. But it should not be thought of simply as a celebration in memory of something past: rather it should be seen as an occasion to encourage the Arab Family and the Arab Woman, in greater need today than ever before, to raise the levels of intellectual, social and cultural awareness in order to attain an exemplary social life, preserving traditional patterns of behaviour, customs and values, inspired by our Arab heritage in all aspects of life, and guided by the principles of our Islamic relation.
