Abu Dhabi Tour 2018

Abu Dhabi Tour 2018 held from Wednesday 21-25 February. Under the patronage of HH Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan and organized by the Abu Dhabi Sports Council in collaboration with RCS Sport, the 2018 Abu Dhabi Tour featured five stages instead of its usual four.

The race included in the World Tour Calendar of the international cycling union, the Union Cyclist  International (UCI) and run through five stages across  the emirate of Abu Dhabi. The stages include fast-balanced routes alternating between the desert and the sea, and from the mountains to the city.

The main capital city’s landmarks (Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, the Corniche, Yas Marina Circuit), main heritages as the famous oases of Liwa and Al Ain as well as the challenging roadway of Jebel Hafeet Mountain served as the backdrops of the race.

The four colours of the UAE flag inspired the four different jerseys that the classification leaders wear after every stage.  The Red Jersey for the General Individual Classification by time. Second, in order of importance, is the Green Jersey, worn by the leader of the General Individual Classification by points.  The White Jersey for the best Young Rider Classification Leader and the Black Jersey for the Intermediate Sprint competition.
